The idea of "goodness of fit" (GOF) in pharmacokinetic data analysis is an important concept to assure the reliability of proposed pharmacokinetic models.
In addition to this plot, GOF analysis includes other plots such as PRED versus observed (OBS) or PRED versus time (Brendel et al, 2007).
GOF methodology is often used in population pharmacokinetic studies.
The authors used GOF in their assessment of the proposed pharmacokinetic models to compare the population predicted versus the observed nelfinavir and M8 concentrations.
